Department of Political Science's Mentoring Program



MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of the FSAB mentoring program is to build relationships between current and former students that support the successful transition of political science undergraduates from TAMU to the workforce.

FORMER STUDENT MENTOR PARTICIPATION: All mentors must be a past or current FSAB member and submit an application form to the FSAB Career Committee for approval. Applications can be obtained by downloading and completing the mentor application PDF. Please send completed applications as an e-mail attachment to former-students@polisci.tamu.edu or mail it to:

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT PARTICIPATION: All student participants must submit a completed application to Dr. Mike Balog in the Political Science Undergraduate Office. The application will be reviewed and if approved it will be paired with a former student mentor. Applications are available for download from this website or you may pick up a paper copy from the Undergraduate Programs Office, Allen Building Room 2024.

SCOPE: Mentor and student determine the specifics of their program relationship. Typically students could start participation their sophomore year through graduation. Frequency of communication and meetings is based on the availability of the mentor and the needs of the student.
