Ways to Give
Your reasons for giving back to Texas A&M University are personal. Perhaps your experiences here changed your life and you want to pass along the opportunity by funding scholarships. Maybe professors inspired you to begin a new career and you want to encourage the development of our faculty by endowing a professorship. Possibly you want to serve on the Former Students' Advisory Board to support career development and funding for current students. Whatever your reasons may be, we are here to point you in the right direction.

One Spirit One Vision Capital Campaign
For public universities in Texas, private support is the engine of quality. Indeed, state support (general revenues) today provides just one-third of Texas A&M’s total budget. And Vision 2020 research shows the best U.S. universities are currently receiving twice as much state funding per student as Texas A&M.
Thus, Texas A&M initiated the One Spirit One Vision Campaign to raise private gifts in support of Vision 2020 goals. In all, Vision 2020 calls for two major campaigns that will quadruple Texas A&M’s private endowment from $700 million to $3 billion by 2020. So, the campaign will focus on raising private gifts for endowment, ensuring that its impact is felt for generations.
Endowment priorities fall into three, basic categories:
- Endowed faculty chairs and professorships that enable Texas A&M to recruit and retain distinguished scholars and scientists who are also talented teachers.
- Endowed fellowships and scholarships that enable deserving students of top potential to choose Texas A&M for undergraduate, graduate and professional study.
- Endowed support for programs that give Texas A&M national leadership in new and established fields alike.
As a member of the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Political Science is committed to developing programs and funding opportunities for Diversity, Internationalization, and National Prominence. Every dollar raised by the Department, from donating of scholarships to membership in the Former Student Advisory Board, goes to support One Spirit One Vision.
For information on how you can aid in the Campaign, please contact Dr. John Knudsen, senior director of development for the College of Liberal Arts at jkknudsen@yahoo.com or by telephone at 979-845-5192.
