"Now indispensable for students of the Office and for serious observers of a
President -- and readable, besides!"
--Richard E. Neustadt.
“PSQ is a must read for any serious scholar of presidential rhetoric.”
-- Kathleen Hall Jamieson
"Presidential Studies Quarterly accomplishes two important goals. It publishes the best work on the presidency and it actively promotes research and writing. (PSQ) identifies the gaps and provides data and commentary on contemporary developments. The journal makes an enormous contribution to presidential scholarship."
-- Charles O. Jones
“Without question Presidential Studies Quarterly is the premier journal which explains the history and mechanisms of our Executive Branch. Always fascinating, the high-quality of the contributions is truly astounding. I salute Presidential Studies Quarterly for its unqualified excellence.”
-- Douglas Brinkley
Presidential Studies Quarterly (
PSQ) is an interdisciplinary journal of theory and research focusing on the American presidency. We welcome submissions on all aspects of the Presidency, including those written from a comparative perspective.
PSQ invites papers employing diverse theoretical and methodological approaches, including both quantitative and qualitative work. An original perspective, rigorous and reflective analysis, and clarity of expression should characterize all papers.
PSQ is published by
Blackwell Publishing for the
Center for the Study of the Presidency in Washington D.C.
We require a copy of the paper on a diskette and four (4) copies of each manuscript, three of which should have all references removed that could identify the author, and approximately a 100-word abstract.
Manuscripts will not be returned.
PSQ does not consider manuscripts submitted simultaneously to other journals or those exceeding 50 standard pages (250 words per page). The text should be double-spaced, using reference-in-text format. References and footnotes should appear on separate pages, double-spaced at the end of the text. Tables and figures should also appear on separate pages at the end of the manuscript.
Contributors should send manuscripts to:
